"LIFT" 2012 AUDITIONS

On Sunday, April 15th there will be an open call audition for male dancers in all genres for the upcoming choreographer showcase LIFT at Gotta Dance at 7:00 PM. Atlanta's premier all male showcase returns for the third year with some of Atlanta's leading choreographers. Please bring resume, headshot, and your schedule of availability.

“The Georgia Jets Cheer/Dance Team” is one of Atlanta’s Elite Professional Dance Team!

Dance auditions are Saturday, April 14, 2012

Registration begins at 12:00 noon and auditions start at 1:00pm

The auditions are open to the public. Dancers are encouraged to invite family and friends out for support. You will be given extra points on crowd appeal!

Georgia Jets football games and appearances around the metro area

Requirements
• Female Dancers who are 18 years of age or older by the audition date
• Must be available for all phases of the audition process and be prepared to stay as long as necessary
• Must provide one non-returnable photo (5″x7″ or larger preferred). Photos are used for identification purposes.
• Must be of good moral character and successfully complete all pre-employment screening
• Must have dependable transportation to rehearsals, performances, and appearances.

Attire
• Dance or athletic half-top (stomach must be showing)
• Hot pants, dance trunks, or shorts (no full or capri length pants)
• Dance sneakers, tennis shoes, or jazz shoes with non-marking soles
• Flesh tone hose, tights, or fishnets
• Performance ready hair and make-up

What we’re looking for
• Showmanship, personality, energy, and enthusiasm!
• Dancers who are well spoken and can represent the “Georgia Jets Football Organization”  and  “Diamonds & Pearls Show Team” in a professional and mature manner
• Dance technique, style and ability to pick up dance choreography
• Consistent positive attitude
• Strong teamwork skills
• Physical fitness and personal appearance
• If you cannot commit for the full season, please do not audition

OPERATION LET'S MOVE AUDITIONS

Check out this opportunity from Atlanta Dance Dactory! Atlanta Dance Factory and KiMMESTRY have been chosen to hold auditions for First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move initiative! The selected dancers will be featured in all events throughout Georgia and highlighted on televised Atlanta morning news outlets.

Let's Move! Dekalb County, will be putting on the largest dance performance in the state of Georgia on Saturday, March 31st at the Halford Stadium in Clarkston. The performance will consist of 5,000 youth dancers ages 7-17. Atlanta Dance Factory and Kimmestry will be holding auditions for a core group of dancers who will be featured in this performance. If selected, your child will receive a personalized [Operation Let's Move!] T-shirt, studio time, professional training by individuals who have over 60 years of collective experience and participate in special dance video that will be seen by Beyonce!

This core group will go on to be the featured dancers in subsequent counties, i.e. Gwinnett, Cobb, Fulton, etc. The experience will promote the power of movement and embodies healthy life choices. [Operation: Let's Move!] is a wonderful opportunity to show the world - more directly Mrs. Michelle Obama - how Atlanta Dance Factory, KiMMESTRY and the people of Georgia take the anti-obesity initiative to heart.

The audition date is Saturday, March 17th at 2:30 pm for ages 7-17. Rehearsals will be Saturday, March 17th 4:30p-6:00p and March 24th 2:30p-4:00p. There will be a dress rehearsal/video shoot on Friday, March 30th 7:00p-9:00p and the final performance will be Saturday, March 31st at 9:00am. AUDITIONS FOR CORE PERFORMANCE COMPANY

CORE Performance Company seeks dancers for their 2012-2013 season. Auditions will be held in both of CORE’s home cities. Atlanta auditions will be held at CORE Studios on March 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. and March 10 from 1- 2:30 p.m., and in Houston on March 24 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Barnevelder Movement/Arts Complex, Studio  B. Registration begins a half-hour before the class.

CORE Performance Company, headquartered in Atlanta, GA and Houston, TX is seeking dance artists to join the company for our 2012-13 season. The season will feature the creation of new works for the stage as well as site-specific work with multiple performances in Atlanta, Houston and on tour. The paid (non-union) contract period will include a minimum of 32 weeks at 30 hours per week (including rehearsals and performances).

If you are in Houston or elsewhere, to become a member of CORE, you will need to be prepared to relocate to Atlanta for a substantial period of time during our performing season, which runs from September through May each year.

Interested dance artists should attend the appropriate audition (see above). The audition process will be structured similarly to a CORE Performance Company class. The Artistic Director, Sue Schroeder, is interested in observing the attendees “at work”. After a warm-up, be prepared to learn a lengthy movement phrase and then work creatively with that phrase using specific instructions to generate new movement material.

We are looking for seasoned dance artists, skilled in the Modern/Postmodern idiom who have the ability and interest to contribute creatively with a sense of curiosity, wonder and collaboration.
