A National Black Arts Festival commission in partnership with Spelman College and T. Lang Dance, Doxology draws back the curtain on the ecstatic, transcendent ring shout tradition through a rich blend of dance, visual imagery, and music. Conceived, written and directed by award winning playwright, Paul Carter Harrison in collaboration with virtuoso composer Dwight Andrews, acclaimed digital media artist, Philip Mallory Jones, and the legendary choreographer, Dianne McIntyre, this provocative dance/opera will be performed by Atlanta’sT. Lang Dance along with Spelman student dancers accompanied by a live band in a digitally created environment.
